About & method

A curated signal, not a copy

Defense Valley News is a Google-News-style feed for European defense-tech funding. We track funding rounds, new funds, M&A, contracts and policy — then point you to the original reporting. It is operated by Defense Valley.

What we cover

Our focus regions, in English:

  • Ukraine
  • Nordics
  • Baltics
  • Germany
  • Poland
  • Benelux
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • Pan-European

How we handle sources

We believe an aggregator should add signal without taking credit for others' work. Our method reflects that — and keeps us compliant with European copyright law:

  • We link, we don't republish. Every item points to the original article on the publisher's own site.
  • Summaries are our own words. We state the facts of a deal — who raised, how much, from whom — which are not protected by copyright. We do not copy the source's article text.
  • Always attributed. Each item names its source and links out to it.
  • We respect publishers. We ingest via RSS and public/official channels, and honour robots.txt and site terms. Any publisher can ask to be removed.
  • No ownership claim. All trademarks and copyrights remain with their respective owners.

This approach follows the standard model for lawful news aggregation in the EU, including the press-publishers' right under Article 15 of the EU Copyright Directive. It is a description of our practice, not legal advice.

Why it exists

Defense Valley sits at the centre of European defense innovation. This feed is how we share what we're watching — and an open door for founders and investors who want a conversation about funding, procurement or market entry.
